Trevecca Sharepoint site owners are able to share sites and files with guests from outside the organization. When a site or file has been shared with you, they can be accessed using a Microsoft account associated to the email address used to share the file.

1. When a site is shared, you will receive an email like the one below:

2. Click the link to begin the process. This will bring you to the “Welcome to SharePoint Online” welcome screen. From here, you will click on the link to set up a Trevecca SharePoint Guest account with Microsoft using the email address used to share the site. If the address is not already a Microsoft account, click 'Create a Microsoft account'

3. Use the same email address that received the share link and click 'Next'.

4. Create a password

5. Type in your date of birth and click 'Next'.

6. Type in the code from the email Microsoft sends you. Check your spam folder if you do not see it.

7. Solve the security puzzle.

8. You will be redirected to the Trevecca page to set up your Multifactor Authentication (MFA). Click 'Next'.

9. Set up MFA. You have the choice of setting up the Microsoft Authenticator app or an alternate phone number. If you do not have the Microsoft Authenticator app, you can click on “I want to set up a different method” to set up your phone for verification codes.

10. Complete the steps to set up the authenticator of your choice.

11. Now that you have finished setting up your account, you will be redirected to the SharePoint or OneDrive site.
