How to Reset Your Password

To Reset a Forgotten Password

 

  1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com
  2. Enter you Trevecca email address
  3. Select 'Work or School account'

 

Select Work or School Account

 

  1. On the password screen, select 'Forgot Password?'
  2. Verify your identity. For your protection, Microsoft must verify your identity before you can proceed with resetting your password. 

  1. Get a verification code

    Depending on the contact method you chose, retype the first part of the email address or the last four digits of the phone number hinted at in the previous window. Select 'Get code'. Microsoft will send a verification code to the email or phone number you selected. Go to the recovery phone or email for where you expect to receive the code.

  2. Enter code and reset password

    Paste or type the code you received and select Next.

    Type your new password and select Next.

 

 

 

To Change Password

 

  1. Go to account.microsoft.com and if you’re not already signed in, sign in with the username and current password for the account you want to update.

 

  1. From the navigation header, select Security and because you’re accessing sensitive info, you’ll need to enter the password for this account again.

 

  1. From the Password security tile, select Change my password.

 

  1. On the Change your password page, enter your current password and then enter your new password.

 

  1. Select Save.

 

 

Password Requirements

 

  • Must be at least 12 characters long 

  • Must contain uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and/or special characters

  • Cannot contain any part of your name or username 

  • Will never expire
